Summary:  Early Dismissal for Staff and Class Cancellations at NOON TODAY
Last Updated: Feb 09, 2017 05:22:31 am Message ID: 148880

Because of worsening travel conditions, classes in Yale College and in the Graduate School are cancelled at noon today, except when instructors have decided to hold class and have communicated that decision directly to their students. After the storm passes, deans will confer with their respective faculties about arrangements for make-up classes. Professional Schools are communicating directly with their faculty and students regarding closings or class cancellations.

The University will dismiss employees providing non-critical functions at noon today. Any employee planning to leave work early or not report for a later shift MUST have prior supervisor approval.

For staff performing critical functions: The University is a complex institution with a large residential population and clinical operations. Staff providing critical functions including medical services, patient care support, food service, utilities and facilities management, sensitive operations, and public safety must report to work.

It is important that there is clear departmental communication between supervisors and staff regarding dismissals. If you have any questions, please consult with your supervisor, Lead Administrator or Human Resources Generalist.

Please check http://emergency.yale.edu for updates, closures and cancellations.
